Connecting Past and Present

Nestled in the island's serene countryside, our meticulously renovated estate invites guests to experience the rich cultural heritage and natural splendor of this Mediterranean gem.

Our History

01
A Land Rich in History

About 8,000 years ago, the first humans began to leave their mark on Mallorca. Around 4,000 years ago, the Greeks and Phoenicians arrived on the Balearic Islands.

Over 2,000 years ago, the Romans conquered this paradise in the western Mediterranean. About 1,000 years ago, the Arabs took over the sunny island.

And for the past 100 years, Germans have been coming to Mallorca.

All of these cultures have left their traces on the island, creating a rich tapestry of history that still shapes its identity today.

02
The Heritage of Finca Predio Son Serra

The area surrounding Muro and Finca Predio Son Serra is no exception to Mallorca’s historical legacy. The name of the finca hints at its roots as an old, medium-sized estate (predio) located in the middle of a forest (serra = saw in Catalan), in the "Region of the Saws." This area has been inhabited since early times, and traces of prehistoric settlements remain. Near the horse stables, you can find the remains of "Talayots," ancient rocky fortresses that serve as silent witnesses to the past.

The main house, now over 100 years old, was originally established by nuns as a household school, teaching skills such as weaving, sewing, cooking, and knitting, with the help of charitable donations. Later, the finca was acquired by the Mesquida family and became a hunting lodge for large gatherings. Partridges and rabbits were especially sought after. To this day, the Mesquida family retains ownership of the neighboring estate, "Son Pradera."
